Stacey Simmons, PhD, is a writer and psychotherapist who grew up in New Orleans, and currently lives and keeps horses out in the boonies of Los Angeles. She’s a self-described neurotic polymath with a PhD in social psychology, is fluent in French, and has a passion for women’s issues and neuroscience. She left a career in animation and visual effects to become a psychotherapist. In her graduate research she discovered an analog to the Hero’s Journey for woman-driven narrative-- and it is NOT a Heroine’s journey!

Stacey will take us through The Queen’s Path from her book of the same name. Find out more at

While she is not affiliated with Yale, a YWWG member heard her speak and knew her story framework would be of great interest to our YaleWomen Writing Group!
