YaleWomen Atlanta: Modern Careers in Archeology

Join YaleWomen Atlanta this Sunday, November 10th at 3pm and hear about the adventures of Kristin Hacken South as she pursues her career in archaeology.

Kristin Hacken South graduated from Yale University with two degrees in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations (YC '93, YGS '93), with a specialization in ancient Egyptian languages and history. She later worked at the Peabody Museum in the Anthropology Division and the Yale Art Gallery, where she conserved their Coptic textiles collection. During her Fulbright Fellowship in Egypt, she put her training in textile conservation to use on the archaeological site of Fag el-Gamus, located on the eastern edge of the Fayum. She has since worked at that site for 25 years, regularly speaking at international conferences and publishing academic articles. She has lived in the Atlanta area for three years.

The conversation will be held at Kristin's home in Decatur. Refreshments will be provided.
